Newcastle United and Brentford will face each other in the Championship on Saturday.

Former Arsenal and Aston Villa attacker Paul Merson predicted on the Sky Sports Now show on Sky Sports News HQ on Friday morning (broadcast from 10am, October 14, 2016) that Newcastle United will win against Brentford this weekend.
Newcastle will return to action after the international break on Saturday afternoon when they take on Brentford at home.
Rafael Benitez’s side will head into the Championship match at St. James’ Park high on confidence.

Merson has backed the Magpies to pick up all three points from the encounter, but the former England international has warned that it will not be easy.
“I think this is a very difficult game,” said Merson on the Sky Sports Now show on Sky Sports News HQ on Friday morning (broadcast from 10am, October 14, 2016). “I have gone for Newcastle to win this because they are at home 2-1, but it is a dangerous game.”
“This Brentford team is a good team,” added Merson. “They pass the ball around, they had a great result at Brighton not long ago who are a very good team. The first 20 minutes are important, I think.”

Newcastle are third in the Championship table at the moment with 22 points from 11 matches.
Benitez’s side, who got relegated from the Premier League at the end of last season, are just three points behind leaders Huddersfield Town.
Brentford are also doing well at the moment, as they find themselves just outside of the playoff spots.
The Bees are seventh in the standings with 18 points from 11 matches, just two points behind sixth-placed Birmingham City.
