Paul Merson has predicted Frank Lampard’s Everton to lose against Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds United this weekend, as quoted in SportsKeeda.

Everton will take on Leeds at Goodison Park in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

Former Arsenal star and Sky Sports pundit Merson believes that Leeds will get the better of Everton 3-2.

Leeds will head into the match against Everton on the back of a 3-3 draw with Aston Villa away from home at Villa Park in the Premier League.

Everton went down 3-1 to Newcastle United at St. James’ Park in the league in midweek.

Merson wrote on SportsKeeda: “Everton were fortunate that Norwich drew their game this week. If they’d held on to win it, Everton would be in major trouble now. This is a nightmare of a game for Frank Lampard.

“Leeds are a lovely team to watch, and you could see that against Aston Villa. They just never give up. This is a dangerous game for Everton. They were well beaten the other day. I didn’t like what Frank Lampard said after the game either – he said there’d be plenty more of these. That’s what he’s been brought in to stop.

“Everton were poor the other night. Leeds will put pressure on Everton at Goodison Park, and they’re going to play like they always play. A 0-0 with Leeds is very rare, and this will be an open football match. Both teams are defensively all over the place, but I’m going to back Leeds to win this game.”

Who will win Everton v Leeds United?

In our view, Everton will head into the match against Leeds as favourites, but we see a draw as the most likely outcome at Goodison Park.

The Toffees are not having the best of seasons, and some would even say that Lampard’s team are in a relegation battle.

Everton, though, do have some wonderful players, such as Dominic Calvert-Lewin, and we think that the Toffees will be fine.

Leeds do play attacking football, and Bielsa’s side will make it hard for Everton at Goodison Park.
