Pundit predicts Everton will get back on track against Crystal Palace.
Paul Merson
Paul Merson is backing Everton to beat Crystal Palace when the two teams face off on Friday night.
The Toffees are looking to bounce back after two straight defeats in the EFL Cup and Premier League to Norwich City and Bournemouth.
Palace come into the game on a high after clinching a dramatic 3-2 comeback win over Sunderland last weekend.
Crystal Palace’s Christian Benteke in action
Former Premier League ace Merson has told SkySports that he believes Everton will win this upcoming clash 2-1, with Romelu Lukaku playing a key role.
He said: “There’s not much between Romelu Lukaku and Christian Benteke if both sides play to their strengths, but Lukaku has looked bright recently and Benteke is just starting out with a new club.”
Crystal Palace’s Christian Benteke
Lukaku had a spell in early September where he was in terrific form, but looked disinterested in last week’s away defeat to Bournemouth.
Benteke bagged the late winner for Palace against Sunderland, and the two Belgian internationals will want to put in a big performance before they head off on the international break, to give one the edge over the other.
Everton can temporarily move up to second place with a win, while Palace, up to seventh, could leapfrog Manchester United.
