Pundit predicts Everton beat West Ham.

Everton take on West Ham in midweek, with both sides desperately in need of a win.

Pundit Paul Merson is backing a victory for home side Everton, telling SkySports he is predicting a 2-0 victory for the Toffees.

He said: “I am going to go with home advantage here, 2-0 to Everton, as if they cannot get themselves up for this game at home, they need to start panicking.”

Both sides have endured disappointing starts to the season, and reacted by firing their managers.

West Ham will have former Toffees boss David Moyes in charge.

BBC Sport report Everton are weighing up a move for ex-Hammers manager Sam Allardyce, although whatever happens he will not likely be in charge for Wednesday’s game.

West Ham have taken one point from Moyes’ first two games in charge.

Everton are in 16th place and have a two point advantage on West Ham in 18th heading into the fixture.

Everton are low on confidence after getting beat 4-1 by Southampton at the weekend, but whether West Ham are capable of taking advantage of them is another matter, and David Moyes will be concerned if his side slip to defeat.
