Aston Villa will face Sheffield Wednesday at Villa Park in the Championship this afternoon.

Former Arsenal attacker Paul Merson said on the Sky Sports Now show on Sky Sports News HQ on Friday morning (broadcast from 11am, March 10, 2017) that this afternoon’s match between Aston Villa and Sheffield Wednesday will end in a draw.
Villa will take on Wednesday at Villa Park in the Championship in a few hours’ time.
While predicting a 1-1 draw, former Villa attacker Merson said on the Sky Sports Now show on Sky Sports News HQ on Friday morning (broadcast from 11am, March 10, 2017): “I have gone for a draw here. I think my heart has gone with a draw here.
“I think if I had to go with someone, I would probably go with Sheffield Wednesday, but Villa, hopefully, they will get a point.”
Villa will head into the match against Wednesday on the back of a 1-0 defeat to Huddersfield Town away from home at the John Smith’s Stadium in the Championship.
Steve Bruce’s side are 15th in the league table at the moment with 45 points from 36 matches.
The Villans are unlikely to end up in the top six of the Championship this campaign and are not in a relegation fight anymore.
Meanwhile, Wednesday currently find themselves sixth in the standings with 62 points from 36 matches.
The Owls are in the race for the playoffs, and they should be able to clinch a spot in the top six.
Wednesday will head into the match against Villa on the back of a 1-1 draw with Burton Albion at the Hillsborough Stadium.
