Pundit confident both Tottenham and Arsenal will win FA Cup clashes.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger
Arsenal and Tottenham both have FA Cup quarter-finals this weekend against lower league opposition.
The Gunners face non-league Lincoln City, hoping to avoid a momentous giant killing.
Tottenham face League One side Millwall, and pundit Paul Merson is backing both North London sides to record comfortable home wins.
Speaking to SkySports, Merson said he predicts a 4-0 win for Arsenal.
He said: “This is Arsenal’s only chance now of any sort of success this season so I don’t see anything other than a home win. It’s great Lincoln have got to this stage but this is where it will end for them.”
Merson adds that he sees a 3-1 win for Tottenham against Millwall, commenting: “They’ll certainly make it hard for Spurs but Mauricio Pochettino’s side have been on fire recently, especially at home.”
It would be a major shock if either side lost this weekend, and Arsene Wenger cannot afford to suffer a defeat with the Gunners coming off a 10-2 aggregate humiliation against Bayern Munich.
Both sides are desperate to win a trophy this season, with Arsenal last winning the FA Cup in 2015. Tottenham last won the League Cup in 2008.
A win for both sides could set up a mouth watering Wembley semi final or final between Arsenal and Tottenham, with a loss unthinkable for either.
