Pundit predicts Spurs will beat Hull, after slipping to a defeat at the weekend.

Tottenham Hotspur have lost three of their last five games in all competitions but Paul Merson is backing them to record a comfortable win this week.

Spurs face Hull City at White Hart Lane this week, and SkySports pundit Paul Merson is predicting an easy 3-0 win.

Spurs are coming off a 1-0 loss at Manchester United, with wins over Swansea and CSKA Moscow sandwiching earlier defeats to Chelsea and AS Monaco.

Merson said that this game is a must win for Mauricio Pochettino’s side: “If you look at the games that the rest of the top six have in midweek, then Tottenham need to win. They have the easiest game out of everybody and I think they will get the three points.

“They were OK against United, just OK. At times they got into positions where they should have been better. They have to win these games to stay around the top four.”

Tottenham are in fifth position but missed a chance to climb nine points above sixth placed Manchester United at the weekend, with the Red Devils’ win cutting their six point gap to three.

Spurs are three points behind fourth placed Manchester City, and they need to look upwards rather than worrying about United, and get back into the mix.

Chelsea are 10 points ahead up at the top of the table, and if Tottenham have any serious aspirations to win the title then they cannot drop points against 19th placed Hull City.
