Bournemouth play host to West Ham United in the Premier League tomorrow.

Paul Merson answers questions during Gillette Soccer Saturday Live with Jeff Stelling on March 19, 2012 at the Bournemouth International Centre in Bournemouth, England.

Sky Sports pundit Paul Merson predicted the outcome of tomorrow’s Premier League clash between Bournemouth and West Ham, when writing his regular prediction column for Sky Sports.

The Cherries have been on a woeful run of late, having taken just three points from their last seven Premier League outings, and they currently sit precariously in 18th position in the table.

The Hammers, meanwhile, are not fairing much better, and sit one point and one place above Eddie Howe’s men, although they have been in better form than the hosts.

Eddie Howe the head coach

Both sides will be desperate for all three points tomorrow, and for good reason, with the threat of relegation a very real possibility for both sides.

Merson wrote his regular prediction column for Sky Sports, and explained why he expects a closely matched encounter at the Vitality Stadium tomorrow:

David Unsworth, Caretaker Manager of Everton and David Moyes, Manager of West Ham United greet each other during the Premier League match between Everton and West Ham United at Goodison...

It is six games without a win now for Bournemouth, and Newcastle go to West Ham and win, and yet they had kept clean sheets against three top teams. They have played Chelsea, Arsenal and Stoke, who scored three goals on Saturday, and kept clean sheets. And then they go and let in three goals against Newcastle, who cannot win for toffee, and that was a poor result for West Ham. So it is so hard to predict. This is a big game for Bournemouth. I think they are in major, major trouble because I did not think they would go down. I thought they would have too much.

Prediction: Bournemouth 2-1 West Ham

The hosts will leapfrog the visitors with a win tomorrow, and could climb as high as 13th in the table, whereas David Moyes’ men can jump up to 12th with a victory, should results elsewhere go their way of course.

The game kicks off tomorrow at 3pm.
