Former Arsenal star Paul Merson seems to rate Tottenham Hotspur and England international midfielder Eric Dier highly.

Former Arsenal star Paul Merson has praised Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Eric Dier on Skysports.com.
The former Arsenal attacking midfielder believes that Dier should be part of the England squad for the 2018 World Cup finals in Russia.
“Dier is a proper holding midfielder, he sits there and gives the ball to team-mates easily,” Merson wrote on Skysports.com. “He, along with Henderson, is virtually assured of a place on the plane.”

Dier is one of the best players in the Premier League and has established himself as an important figure in the current Tottenham team.
The 23-year-old is deployed mainly as a defensive midfielder, but the England international is also adept at playing as a central defender.
The former Sporting Lisbon star is a key player for the England national football team, and he is pretty much guaranteed a place in Gareth Southgate’s starting lineup.

Dier has been on the books of Tottenham since the summer of 2014 when he joined from Portuguese giants Sporting for a transfer fee reported by BBC Sport to be worth £4 million.
Spurs finished second in the Premier League last season and will be aiming to win the title during the 2017-18 campaign.
