Former Arsenal star Paul Merson has praised Tottenham Hotspur attacking midfielder Christian Eriksen on Skysports.com.

The former Arsenal attacking midfielder believes that Eriksen is bit of an unsung hero for Tottenham.

Merson wrote on Skysports.com: “Christian Eriksen is a huge miss for Spurs. He’s a bit of an unsung hero for Mauricio Pochettino’s side because he knits everything together from the midfield.”

Quality footballer

Eriksen is one of the best and most creative midfielders in Europe, and the Denmark international’s class and quality is known worldwide.

The 26-year-old attacking midfielder has provided two assists in six Premier League appearances for Spurs so far this season, according to WhoScored.

During the 2017-18 campaign, the Denmark international scored 10 goals and provided 10 assists in 37 league matches for Tottenham, according to WhoScored.

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino has told The Guardian that Erksen is available for the Premier League match against West Ham United away from home at the London Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Spurs are fifth in the Premier League table at the moment with 18 points from eight matches, just two points behind leaders Manchester City.

Tottenham will fancy their chances of winning against London rivals West Ham this weekend.
