Leicester City are flying high in the Premier League under Brendan Rodgers – winning by nine goals last time out.

Sky Sports pundit Paul Merson has praised Leicester City’s “outstanding” win over as well as the “winning mentality” fostered by Foxes manager Brendan Rodgers since his arrival at the King Power Stadium.
Indeed, the retired footballer admits he was “shocked” that no other clubs took Rodgers from Celtic and believes “a lot of teams missed a trick” regarding the Northern Irishman’s services.
Last Friday, the Foxes equalled the 24-year-old record for the biggest ever Premier League victory as 10-man Southampton were utterly torn apart at a rainswept St Mary’s Stadium, running out 9-0 winners.
The victory saw Leicester climb to second in the Premier League table ahead of the Saturday games and, at the conclusion of matchday 10, the Foxes sit third in the standings, four points clear of fifth-placed Arsenal.
“I thought they were outstanding,” Merson wrote on Sky Sports News. “Brendan Rodgers has gone in and got a winning mentality back in there.

“They had one when they won the league obviously but that fizzled away and it was like ‘if we win, we win and if we don’t win, it isn’t a big drama’. But he’s got a winning mentality there like he did at Celtic and he’s carried that on.
“I’m a massive fan of the manager and no disrespect to Leicester, but I was shocked that nobody took him before he left Celtic. I think a lot of teams missed a trick.”
Leicester found themselves two goals to the good by the 17-minute mark courtesy of Ben Chilwell and Youri Tielemans – the Saints already a man down at this stage as Ryan Bertrand was sent off 12 minutes in – before both Jamie Vardy and Ayoze Perez scored hat-tricks and James Maddison also got on the scoresheet.
