Victor Wanyama joined Tottenham Hotspur from Southampton in the summer transfer window.
Former Arsenal attacker Paul Merson said on the Gillette Soccer Saturday show on Sky Sports News HQ on Saturday afternoon (broadcast from 12pm, January 7, 2017) that Victor Wanyama has been Tottenham Hotspur’s sung hero so far this season.
Wanyama joined Tottenham from Premier League rivals Southampton in the summer transfer window.
According to a report in The Guardian at the time, Spurs had to pay the Saints a transfer fee of £11 million in order to secure the services of the 25-year-old defensive midfielder.
Former Arsenal attacker Merson has been impressed with the performances of the Kenya international so far this season, and believes that the ex-Celtic star has been Tottenham’s unsung hero.
“He has been absolutely outstanding and he is their unsung hero in my opinion,” said Merson about Wanyama on the Gillette Soccer Saturday show on Sky Sports News HQ on Saturday afternoon (broadcast from 12pm, January 7, 2017).

Tottenham are third in the Premier League table at the moment with 42 points from 20 matches, seven points behind London rivals and leaders Chelsea.
The North London outfit will return to action on Saturday afternoon when they take on West Bromwich Albion at White Hart Lane in the Premier League.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side are very much in the running for the league title this season.
