Pundit criticises Tottenham’s Hugo Lloris.

Paul Merson has weighed in on Hugo Lloris’ game costing mistake for Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield.
Lloris spilled a ball onto the unwitting feet of Toby Alderweireld, resulting in an own goal.
The late goal gave Liverpool a 2-1 victory, when Tottenham had deserved so much more.
In his column for Sky Sports predicting this weekend’s matches, Merson took a dig at Spurs stopper Lloris.
He said: “They [Liverpool] had a result and a bit of luck last weekend with a World Cup-winning goalkeeper dropping a ball my four-year-old would have caught, and I think they take advantage in this game and go top again.”

Lloris has been inconsistent in goal for Tottenham over the past 18 months and this is not the first time Merson has noted it.
He told Sky Sports in October: “Lloris has been a bit wobbly this season – sometimes he comes steaming out of his goal and he does not need to do that.”
It was just as the Frenchman was recovering his form that he had his latest clanger.
Tottenham face Manchester City in the Champions League again and they can’t afford for Lloris to let them down again.
Spurs kept faith with Lloris in midweek, a show of faith in the Frenchman. It’s time for him to eradicate the mistakes.
