Tottenham Hotspur go into next season considered outsiders for the Premier League title.

Paul Merson has told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast, which was broadcast on TalkSPORT on 17th May, that Tottenham Hotspur are one of his favourites to win the Premier League title next season.
Spurs have been Leicester City and Chelsea’s closest rivals for the Premier League title in the last two campaigns, but ultimately come up short.
There are fears that a move away from White Hart Lane to Wembley for next campaign could disrupt Spurs’ progress.
However, Merson believes that if the fixture list is kind to Tottenham, then Mauricio Pochettino’s side could be challenging for top spot once again.

“I’ve got to go Tottenham or Chelsea,” Merson said, when asked who he thought were the favourites for next season’s Premier League.
“If Spurs can get their first five home games against the lesser teams… the fixture list is big. If they can get their first games against the lesser teams, they’re a massive threat. Spurs and Chelsea have the teams.”
Tottenham are generally considered as outsiders for the top flight title next term, as their home form has been so important this season.
Spurs have been unbeatable at White Hart Lane throughout the campaign, but their form at Wembley has not been as impressive.
Tottenham won just one of their European matches at the national stadium, and also lost to Chelsea in the FA Cup semi-final.
Just yesterday, Ray Wilkins was among the first of the pundits to write off Tottenham’s chances of winning next season’s Premier League off (HITC).
