Arsenal will welcome Crystal Palace to the Emirates in the Premier League tomorrow.

Sky Sports pundit Paul Merson predicted the outcome of tomorrow’s Premier League clash between Arsenal and Crystal Palace, when writing his regular prediction column for Sky Sports.

The Gunners go into the game on the back of a woeful run of form that has seen them go five games without a win, and they currently sit in sixth spot in the Premier League table, eight points adrift of the top four.

The Eagles, meanwhile have strung together an impressive run of results, and sit in 12th spot in the table after recording back-to-back victories.

Arsene Wenger’s men will be expected to take the game to Roy Hodgson’s side tomorrow – something that could prove to be very dangerous with Palace’s counter attacking playing style.

Merson predicted a tough afternoon for the north London outfit, when writing his regular prediction column for Sky Sports, highlighting how the visitors could really hurt the hosts on the break:

Paul Merson answers questions during Gillette Soccer Saturday Live with Jeff Stelling on March 19, 2012 at the Bournemouth International Centre in Bournemouth, England.

“Assuming there’s no Alexis Sanchez, I’m trying to make a case for Arsenal winning here. I don’t know where they’re going to hurt Palace. If you look at the Palace forwards to the Arsenal forwards, it’s chalk and cheese. I’m going for a Palace win. Lacazette doesn’t look like he will score in a month of Sundays, Danny Welbeck is not a winger, and no matter how good Jack Wilshere is playing he’s not going to be the one who scores you the goals. They let in goals for fun, and that’s where Palace are dangerous. Arsenal will have to have a go at Palace and won’t be able to deal with them on the break!”

Prediction: Arsenal 1-2 Crystal Palace

Arsenal will be desperate for all three points tomorrow and absolutely have to win, if they harbour genuine ambitions of finishing inside the top four, whilst Palace could climb as high as ninth in the table with a victory.
