Liverpool have shown signs of weakness in recent weeks, but they are still right in the mix in the race for the Premier League title.

Paul Merson delivered a worrying verdict on Liverpool, when speaking exclusively to Sky Sports, suggesting that Jürgen Klopp’s side have looked very nervous recently.

The Reds have been mightily impressive this season, but they have shown signs that they are feeling the pressure recently.

Liverpool currently sit in second spot in the Premier League table, level on points with league leaders Manchester City, although they do have a game in hand over the champions.

The problem for the Merseyside outfit is that their game in hand is away to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s red-hot Manchester United side.

Merson shared why he is concerned for Liverpool, when speaking exclusively to Sky Sports, highlighting how they seem to be panicking in front of goal recently, something that they did not do earlier on in the campaign:

“You have a team that is very nervous and are snatching at chances. Look at Liverpool’s game against Bayern Munich – two months ago, they would have scored two or three of those chances.”

Liverpool are still in a very strong position, and a win at Old Trafford would put to bed talk of their supposed demise immediately.

That will be far easier said than done, however, and Klopp’s men will have to be on their very best form, if they are to have any chance whatsoever of beating their bitter rivals tomorrow.
