Paul Merson has suggested that Liverpool should target Jack Wilshere.

Paul Merson has suggested to The Daily Star that Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp should target a player like Jack Wilshere in the January transfer window.
Liverpool are expected to lose Juventus-linked Emre Can next month, while Philippe Coutinho’s long-term future at Anfield is also in major doubt.
Wilshere, like Can, is out of contract in the summer and Arsenal could offload him in January to avoid losing him for free.

The 25-year-old midfielder dazzled in Thursday night’s 3-2 win at Crystal Palace and his assist for the Gunners’ third prompted Liverpool fans on Twitter to call for his signing.
And Merson has echoed those sentiments by suggesting that Klopp should go for him.

He told The Daily Star: “Losing Coutinho will hurt them. They need a midfielder who can burst forward and play the ball forward – a player like Jack Wilshere.”
The Guardian reported on Friday that Wilshere was “sure” he would be offered a new contract after productive talks with manager Arsene Wenger.
