Crystal Palace’s Mile Jedinak at the end
Paul Merson has hailed Aston Villa’s capture of Mile Jedinak to Sky Sports, saying the Villans have had a ‘right result’ with the move.
Roberto di Matteo’s side completed a move for the Australia international this week, making him their fifth signing of the summer.
He arrives after finding first team football hard to come by under Alan Pardew at Crystal Palace.
The signing has largely been met with optimism from the Villa faithful, who are keen to see him add both the leadership and experience of the Championship that the current side is lacking.

And Merson is one who is impressed by the move, saying he believes Aston Villa have had ‘a right result’.
“I think Aston Villa have had a right result there,” he told Sky Sports.
“For me he is a good player, a good pro, he plays the position and he does his job and is a seven out of ten every week. He’s a leader. What a signing.”

It now remains to be seen if Jedinak does prove to be smart signing for Aston Villa across this season.
It is fair to say that not many are backing Di Matteo’s side for success in the Championship, with the belief firmly being that it could be another season of struggle.
Jedinak adds some much needed experience though and the Villans will be hoping he can lead them to a return to the Premier League.
