Pundit impressed with Tottenham Hotspur addition.
Paul Merson has told SkySports he believes Lucas Moura is a great signing for Tottenham Hotspur.
The pundit was asked for his thoughts on the transfer on Sky’s deadline day coverage at 11pm.
Merson responded by saying he feels Tottenham have pulled off a coup.
He is Spurs’ first January deadline day signing since Dele Alli from MK Dons in 2015.
Tottenham spent £25 million to clinch Lucas’ signature from Paris Saint-Germain.
Merson said: “He’s great signing for Tottenham.
“They have their team already, so it’s hard to bring a player in who will walk straight in the team.
“This lads a great buy.”
Commenting on their 2-0 win over Manchester United, he added: “They looked very good tonight.”
Lucas is the second player Tottenham have signed from PSG this season, following Serge Aurier’s addition.
He is also eligible to play in the Champions League, where Spurs play Juventus later this month.
