Paul Merson explains why Tottenham will get a ‘shock’ against Huddersfield

Pundit still expects Tottenham to win the encounter.

Paul Merson has told SkySports he believes Tottenham Hotspur will be caught off guard by Huddersfield Town’s approach at the weekend.

Merson said he believes Spurs will still win the game, but will be taken aback by the Terriers’ endeavour.

The two teams face off in Saturday’s early kick-off.

Merson said: “Huddersfield are coming up against a different kettle of fish this weekend but they do work hard and that will shock Spurs, but in the end the visitor’s quality will tell.

“Harry Kane is absolutely flying at the moment and Huddersfield won’t have come up against anyone like that yet. I don’t see how they will be able to contain him.”

The pundit says he expects Tottenham to go on to win the game 3-0.

Spurs are full of confidence after beating APOEL Nicosia by the same scoreline in the Champions League in midweek.

Tottenham have a 100 per cent away record this season, most recently beating West Ham in the Premier League.

Huddersfield are so far unbeaten at home in their three games so far, winning once and drawing two.

This is their biggest test so far. Presently they sit just two points behind Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League table.
