Tottenham Hotspur are hoping to move into their new ground in February, according to the latest reports.

England's Paul Merson crosses the ball during the Star Sixes football match between England and Spain at the O2 Arena in London on July 13, 2017.

Paul Merson has told The Debate, which was broadcast on Sky Sports on 29th November, that he worries for Tottenham Hotspur.

Merson claims that Tottenham are going to lose players in the coming years, due to the new stadium.

The former Arsenal man feels that the Gunners’ failure to hold on to key players in recent times is as a result of the Emirates Stadium being built.

And Merson believes that Tottenham could suffer a similar fate to their North London rivals in the coming months.

He said: “I worry for them. I just see at Arsenal over the years with the new stadium, they had to sell top drawer players to balance the books.

“I don’t see how Tottenham don’t have to do that next season. Real Madrid aren’t going to win the league. They will go big. Where would you go? You’d go to Tottenham because they have some of the best players about.”

Tottenham could well lose Toby Alderweireld at the end of the season, and Christian Eriksen’s future has fallen into doubt more recently.

However, Spurs are still making excellent progress, and their form in recent games has been impressive.

Tottenham have beaten Chelsea and Inter Milan in their last two outings to keep their Premier League and Champions League hopes alive.

Tottenham are next in action on Sunday, when they take on Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.
