Tottenham Hotspur are currently three points away from the top four in the Premier League standings.
Paul Merson has suggested that Tottenham Hotspur have a greater chance of finishing in the top four than winning the Europa League, as per his comments on the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast, which was broadcast on 8th December on TalkSPORT.
Spurs made it into the Europa League knockout stages last night, by securing third place in their Champions League group.
Tottenham beat CSKA Moscow to ensure that they would be playing European football in 2017.

Spurs now have two avenues to qualify for the Champions League next season.
Tottenham could either finish in the top four in the Premier League, or win the Europa League to qualify for the Europe’s top competition.
And Merson believes that qualifying for the Europa League was important for Spurs.

“If you look at the prices, you would say top four,” Merson said, when he was asked whether Spurs finishing in the top four or winning the Europa League was more likely. “They have more chance of finishing in the top four than to win the Europa League.
“But, for me, I thought they had to win this game because it gives them two chances. They might just have that to go for in February and March.”
Tottenham are currently three points outside the Champions League qualifying spots in the Premier League table.
The Lilywhites will find out who they take on in the first knockout round of the Europa League later this week, when the draw is made.
