Sunderland have failed to win any of their first seven Premier League matches under David Moyes.

Paul Merson has told Sky Sports’ Facebook page that Sunderland should give David Moyes more time to sort their problems out.
Sunderland have failed to win a Premier League match under Moyes’ stewardship so far, and they currently sit at the bottom of the table.
Moyes is now considered one of the most likely Premier League managers to lose his job by the bookies, but Merson feels that Sunderland should stick by their manager.

“Very much so,” Merson said, when asked whether it was too early to start thinking about dismissing Moyes. “You could put Guardiola in there but what difference would it make? You have the players you’ve got.
“I don’t think he’s done much wrong. If they can come 17th, I think they have had a great season.”
The last two jobs Moyes has been in – at Manchester United and Real Sociedad – have not gone according to plan, so he is under pressure to make sure he gets things right at Sunderland.

The Black Cats have been worrying poor so far this season though, and there is a great deal of frustration around the Stadium of Light.
Sunderland have been fighting against relegation for a number of seasons now, and it looks as if they could be facing another battle against the drop this term.
Sunderland’s next match comes against Stoke City tomorrow at the Bet 365 Stadium.
