Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Eric Dier scored during the North London derby, but Mauricio Pochettino’s side still lost.

Paul Merson has told The Debate on Sky Sports that he isn’t sure about Tottenham Hotspur’s Eric Dier.
Dier was at the front of the controversy, after Tottenham’s 4-2 defeat to Arsenal.
The England international had scored in the contest, and tried to silence the Emirates Stadium.
However, it was Arsenal who had the last laugh against their North London rivals, with Mauricio Pochettino’s side falling to a defeat.
And Merson feels that the Spurs man often slows the game down when he plays in midfield.
“I’m not sure about Dier as a holding midfield player,” Merson said. “He’s a bit lackadaisical, he thinks it’s too easy for him. He slows the game up.”

Dier was actually at fault for the fourth goal which Spurs conceded in the contest, as he got slipped too easily by Lucas Torreira.
Tottenham’s defeat to Arsenal has seen them slip below their rivals in the Premier League table.
Spurs are next in action on Wednesday evening, when they take on Southampton.
