Pundit predicts Tottenham v Liverpool result.

Paul Merson answers questions during Gillette Soccer Saturday Live with Jeff Stelling on March 19, 2012 at the Bournemouth International Centre in Bournemouth, England.

Paul Merson has told SkySports that he believes Tottenham Hotspur will beat Liverpool this weekend.

Spurs registered their first Premier League win at Wembley at the weekend against Bournemouth, a hard fought 1-0 victory.

Merson believes the game against Liverpool will be more open, and is predicting a 3-2 victory.

However the pundit still feels all is not right with Tottenham’s play at their temporary home, and criticised their performances there in comparison to at White Hart Lane.

He said: “I have watched Spurs at Wembley, and they’re not the same team. They used to tear teams apart at White Hart Lane, flying out of the traps and blowing teams away within 20 minutes.

“You watch them at Wembley and the build-up is slower, pedestrian. But I think this is a good game for them, because Liverpool will have a right go and need a win.”

Roberto Firmino of Liverpool runs with the ball during the Premier League match between Liverpool and Manchester United at Anfield on October 14, 2017 in Liverpool, England.

Spurs and Liverpool have both had strong starts to the season, and the home side will be a wary of a team who won 7-0 away to Maribor in the Champions League in midweek.

In the Premier League, Liverpool have won only one of their four away games, and have conceded 11 goals on their travels – the joint highest in the top flight.

Tottenham forward Harry Kane should be licking his lips at the prospect of going up against their defence.
