Paul Merson praised Everton forward Moise Kean on Sky Sports Football (5:41pm, August 17, 2019) for his performance against Watford at the weekend.

The former Arsenal star said that Kean looked impressive after he came on as a substitute for Everton in their Premier League game against Watford at Goodison Park on Saturday.

Merson also gave his take on the performance of Bernard, saying that the 26-year-old winger – who scored the only goal of the game in the 10th minute – does a bit too much.

Merson said about Kean on Sky Sports Football (5:41pm, August 17, 2019): “The lad Kean came on, looked impressive, looks powerful for a young kid.”

Merson added about Bernard: “He did alright. He is always a threat. Sometimes he does that little bit too much instead of laying it off.”

Stats

Kean, who joined Everton from Italian and European giants Juventus in the summer transfer window, took two shots, had a pass accuracy of 100%, won one header, and attempted two dribbles, according to WhoScored.

Bernard took two shots, had a pass accuracy of 61.9%, played three keys passes, made four tackles, one interception and two clearances, and attempted two dribbles, according to WhoScored.

Everton’s performance against Watford was not great, but at the end of the day, they got the job done.
