Cambridge United and Leeds United will face each other in the FA Cup this evening.
Former Arsenal attacker Paul Merson gave his thoughts on this evening’s FA Cup tie between Cambridge United and Leeds United on The Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast show on talkSPORT on Monday morning (broadcast from 6am, January 9, 2017).
League Two outfit Cambridge will face Championship club Leeds at the Cambs Glass Stadium in the third round of the prestigious cup competition in a few hours’ time.
“This is a hard game tonight,” said Merson on The Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast show on talkSPORT on Monday morning (broadcast from 6am, January 9, 2017).
“I think Leeds are decent, but Shaun Derry has done an unbelievable job at Cambridge, an unbelievable job, they are flying at the moment. Proper cup tie tonight, proper cup tie.”
Leeds will head into the match against Cambridge as favourites and should be able to win the tie with ease.
The West Yorkshire outfit are in good form at the moment and will want to progress to the fourth round of the FA Cup.
Garry Monk’s side will head into the match on the back of a 3-0 victory over Rotherham United at Elland Road in the Championship.
Meanwhile, Cambridge find themselves ninth in the League Two table with 38 points from 24 matches, just a point behind seventh-placed Barnet.
Shaun Derry’s side will head into this evening’s tie on the back of a 4-0 victory over Notts County at home in the league.
