Tottenham Hotspur and West Bromwich Albion are among the clubs reportedly interested in Middlesbrough’s Ben Gibson.

Former Arsenal attacker Paul Merson has suggested in The Daily Star that Ben Gibson may not leave Middlesbrough in the summer transfer window.
Gibson has been on the books of Middlesbrough since 2005 and has a contract with the club until June 2021, according to Transfermarkt.co.uk.
The 24-year-old defender has been one of the best players for Boro this season, and has shown that he is good enough to play in the Premier League on a regular basus.
With Middlesbrough having been relegated to the Championship, there is speculation that clubs in the English top flight want Gibson.

The Telegraph has reported of West Bromwich Albion and Leicester City’s interest in Gibson, while according to The Express, Chelsea, Manchester City, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur all want the defender.
Former Arsenal attacker Merson, though, has suggested that Gibson may not leave the Riverside Stadium in the summer transfer window.
“Stewart Downing is still a good player, and they have a real prospect in Ben Gibson,” Merson wrote in The Daily Star.
“Bigger clubs will be circling for him, but it’s not a given he’ll go. He’s playing for the club he’s supported as a kid. Everyone wants to do that. So he might not want to walk away.”
While Merson does have a point, it could be hard for Gibson to resist the temptation of joining Tottenham, Liverpool or Chelsea.
There is no guarantee that Boro would return to the Premier League for the 2018-19 season, meaning that the defender may not get the chance to join a top club in England anytime soon.
