Kemar Roofe has scored 13 Championship goals for Leeds United this season.

Paul Merson has claimed that Leeds star Kemar Roofe is ‘punching above his weight’, but he did credit the player for the number of goals he has scored this season.
The 25-year-old has played a big part in Marcelo Bielsa’s side sitting top of the Championship table by netting 13 goals from his 20 league games.
Roofe started for the Championship leaders as they were beaten 4-2 at Nottingham Forest as they have now suffered back-to-back defeats in the league.
Prior to their clash at the Forest Ground on New Year’s Day, Merson offered his thoughts on Roofe as he credited him for the ‘big goals’ he scores for his club.
“That’s where it worries me [that he struggled in his first season] because I think he’s punching above his weight,” Merson told Soccer Special on 01/01/2019 at 2:30 pm.
“I think 13 goals is a great return and there have been some big goals. Not like the third or fourth in a 4-0 win. They have been winning goals and late goals.”

West Brom academy graduate Roofe signed for Leeds during the summer of 2016 when Garry Monk was in the Elland Road hot seat – he netted four goals in 42 league matches.
During the previous campaign, Roofe scored 11 goals for the club and played in various positions across the front line, with Bielsa moving him to a forward role this season.
That tactical tweak has paid off as Roofe has found the back of the net on a regular basis this time around, including scoring crucial goals for the club.
In December, he scored the winning goal at Villa Park as Leeds came from 2-0 down to win 3-2 and three days later he scored two goals in stoppage time to secure all three points against Blackburn.
