Everton recorded a goalless draw at Crystal Palace on Saturday afternoon at Selhurst Park.

Paul Merson has claimed that Everton midfielder Idrissa Gueye is ‘one hundred times’ better than Manchester United summer signing Fred.
The former Premier League playmaker was critical of how Fred has performed in recent weeks, particularly during his side’s 4-0 defeat to the Toffees last Sunday.
Both Fred and Gueye played in the middle of the park during that match, with the latter coming out on top as his team thumped United, who then went on to lose to Manchester City 2-0 on Wednesday night.
Speaking to Soccer Saturday on Sky Sports News (28/04/2019 at 12:50 pm), Merson wasn’t clearly impressed with what he has seen from Fred this season.
“I look at their players and I don’t want to dig out Fred that he’s not good enough for Manchester United,” Merson told Soccer Saturday. “The lad at Everton is 100x better than him. Gueye’s 100x better than him.
“£52 million [For Fred], he’s not like he was a free. I’m not a Man United fan, but I was embarrassed. It was cringeworthy [against Everton].”

There is no doubt that United are in a bad run of form and the problems at Old Trafford have appeared once again with a number of players being questioned about their performances.
It is looking highly likely that United will finish outside of the top four this season and it is highly likely that they will be playing Europa League football next term.
Midfielder Fred, who moved to the Manchester-based club last summer, has struggled to prove his worth since his arrival and has been one of a number of players who has been criticised for his performances.
