Paul Merson offered his thoughts on Celtic manager, Brendan Rodgers, potentially joining Chelsea, Newcastle United or Leicester City.

Paul Merson has made a huge claim that Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers ‘could wait’ and join either Premier League duo Chelsea or Newcastle in the summer amid links with the vacant Leicester City job.
Sky Sports reported on Monday that Rodgers is on a list to replace Claude Puel, who was sacked by the Foxes following a number of poor performances and results.
As a result, his name has popped up in England with discussion amongst pundits that he could even return to Stamford Bridge following their recent problems with current boss Maurizio Sarri.

Speaking to the Debate Show on Sky Sports Premier League (25/02/2019 at 22:55 pm), Merson explained whether he could see Rodgers waiting for the Chelsea job to potentially become available in the summer as he even gave Newcastle a mention.
“All day long,” Merson told Sky Sports PL. “I’d take him. If you could wait [for Chelsea] and then you still got Newcastle as well. You don’t know what Benitez is going to do.
“This manager’s top draw. He’d bring kids through [at Chelsea with their transfer ban]. He plays good football. The way Chelsea want to play.
“Leicester is a different way of playing. They play counter-attacking football on the break. He’s not really like that, Brendan. He wants to roll it out and pass it out from the back and I don’t think Leicester have them kind of players.”

As reported by BBC Sport, Chelsea, who are not known for bringing through youngsters, have been banned from signing players during the next two transfer windows by Fifa.
This was mentioned during the Debate show hence the link with Rodgers, who during his time at Celtic has proven that he can bring through youngsters and play an attractive brand of football.
There is no doubt that Rodgers either staying or joining a Premier League club is going to cause a big debate in Scotland, particularly amongst Celtic supporters.
Since his time at the club, Rodgers has proven his worth, season in and season out by winning every domestic trophy possible with the Bhoys.
