Aston Villa have had a rotten first 10 games in the Championship.

Aston Villa legend Paul McGrath has shown his passion for the club on Twitter today.

The Villans are 17th in the Championship table after winning just one of their first 10 Championship games of the season.

The concession of late goals has hugely undermined Aston Villa in recent weeks, with Roberto Di Matteo’s side conceding late equalisers in three of their last five games.

Each week it seems that their hopes of promotion back into the Premier League suffer a blow, and another one might yet come this weekend as Aston Villa visit Preston.

The club’s owner Tony Xia stressed the need for patience on Twitter recently, but McGrath, who spent seven years at Villa Park, says there is no time to wait anymore.

Aston Villa are already 10 points behind the top two, meaning that, in spite of spending £50 million this summer, their automatic promotion hopes look ominous.

They are also seven points off the top six, and with so many sides battling for a coveted playoff spot, it will still be very tricky to finish there come May.

But the good news is that they have the players to put an excellent run of form together. The question is, do they have the manager?
