Aston Villa were hugely disappointing against the Championship strugglers on Saturday.

Aston Villa fans aren’t happy.
Well, Villa supporters have had very little to shout about over the past few years, but Saturday’s 0-0 draw with Brentford has seen disappointment rise to a new low.
Steve Bruce’s side only managed one shot on target against a Brentford outfit who began the weekend level on points with bottom-of-the-table Bolton Wanderers.

It was a dismal showing from Aston Villa who, in truth, have a long way to go this season if they are to challenge for a playoff spot, which was the expectation before the campaign began.
Club legend Paul McGrath claimed on Twitter that there were positives to be taken, but a lot of Aston Villa fans strongly disagreed with what the former Irish defender said.

Worringly for the Villans, their side would’ve been soundly beaten if not for a terrific performance from goalkeeper Sam Johnstone, who pulled off a series of fine saves to keep Dean Smith’s boys at bay.
Villa are now 18th in the Championship, having won just one of their first six games – three draws, two defeats – and it’s not looking great.
