Should Aston Villa make an approach for Ipswich Town manager Mick McCarthy?
Former Manchester United and Derby County defender Paul McGrath has suggested on social networking site Twitter that Aston Villa should hand Mick McCarthy the managerial job.
Villa are looking for a permanent manager following the dismissal of Roberto Di Matteo.
The Villans are playing in the Championship this season after getting relegated from the Premier League at the end of the 2015-16 campaign.
McCarthy is in charge of Championship rivals Ipswich Town at the moment.
Former Villa defender McGrath has suggested on Twitter that the Villans should make a move for McCarthy.
McCarthy is a good manager, and knows the Championship inside out.
The problem is that Ipswich may not be keen to let go of the former Republic of Ireland international defender.
After all, the Tractor Boys will then have to search for a replacement for McCarthy.
Villa are 19th in the Championship table at the moment with 10 points from 11 matches.
The Villans are just two points above the relegation zone and are in danger of going down to League One at the end of the season.
