Aston Villa beat Birmingham City in the Second City derby today.

Paul McGrath has praised former club Aston Villa on Twitter.
The Villans secured the derby-day spoils by beating local rivals Birmingham City 4-2 at Villa Park.
Lukas Jutkiewicz fired the visitors ahead, but a quickfire double from Jonathan Kodjia and Jack Grealish sent Dean Smith’s side into a 2-1 half-time lead.
A Tammy Abraham penalty and stunning solo effort from Alan Hutton, either side of Kristian Pedersen’s strike, was the story of the second half.
Here is how former Aston Villa centre-back McGrath reacted to the win:
It was Aston Villa’s third Championship win on the bounce and Smith’s side now sit eighth in the table, four points behind sixth-placed Derby County.
What a turnaround it’s been by the former Brentford manager and some more victories before January would put the Villans in a very good position with regards to making a surge during the second half of the season.
Steve Bruce, Smith’s predecessor, came close to Premier League promotion last term, losing the playoff final, and Smith will be hoping that they can go one better.
