Paul McGrath has taken to Twitter to give his reaction to Aston Villa’s 2-1 comeback victory over West Bromwich Albion at home on Saturday afternoon.
Villa have got the better of West Brom 2-1 at Villa Park in the first leg of their Championship playoff semi-final tie.
Dwight Gayle, on loan from Premier League outfit Newcastle United, put the Baggies in the lead at Villa Park after just 16 minutes.
Conor Hourihane restored parity for the Villans in 75th minute, and just four minutes later, Tammy Abraham, on loan at Villa from London club Chelsea, made it 2-1 from the penalty spot.
West Brom ended the game with 10 men due to the dismissal of Gayle in the 88th minute.
Villa legend McGrath was following the match, and he has taken to Twitter to give his reaction to the win for Dean Smith’s side.
Former Villa star Ian Taylor has also taken to Twitter to give his reaction to the win for the home team.
Villa will be encouraged by the way they staged the comeback, and Gayle being suspended for the second leg does help the Villans in the quest to win the tie over two legs.
