Aston Villa beat Preston North End 2-0 at Deepdale last night.

Steve Bruce manager of Aston Villa looks on during the Sky Bet Championship match between Preston North End and Aston Villa at Deepdale on November 1, 2017 in Preston, England.

Paul McGrath and Ian Taylor have both praised Aston Villa for their victory over Preston North End.

The Villa legends were delighted with their former side’s performance, as the claret and blues won 2-0 at Deepdale.

Villa looked rock solid defensively in Lancashire, as they put in arguably their best display of the campaign to get the three points.

Villa took the lead early on, when James Chester headed home from a corner and they never looked back after that.

Preston have been in good form this season, but they could not break down John Terry’s and Chester’s partnership in the middle of Steve Bruce’s side’s defence.

And Villa confirmed victory in the second-half, when Robert Snodgrass added a second goal.

Villa have now won six of their last seven matches, to start climbing the Championship table.

The Villans are now in the play off places, and look to be finding top gear.

Villa are next in action at the weekend, when they take on Sheffield Wednesday.
