Paul Mariner has told ESPN FC that Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka needs coaching.
The former Arsenal centre-forward has also suggested the best role for the 26-year-old Switzerland international midfielder – who joined the Gunners from German club Borussia Monchengladbach in the summer of 2016 for a transfer fee reported by The Daily Mail to be worth £35 million.
Mariner told ESPN FC about Xhaka: “I like him in the 6 role. I don’t like him when he plays a little bit further forward or when he plays the 8 role. I don’t like him.
“What they should do with now is they should coach him a little bit more, so they are going to keep him.”
