Many people are tipping Norwich City to make an instant return to the Premier League, and as reported by Eastern Daily Press former manager Paul Lambert is one of the many people backing the Canaries to go all the way.

If you were a betting man, the smart money would be pointing towards Norwich making a push for promotion this season.

They have started like a house on fire with just two losses from their opening 11 league games, form which has left them second in the table as we approach the end of the international break.

Lambert took Norwich from the depths of League One all the way to the Premier League during his time in charge of Carrow Road, and during his interview he also spoke about several players at the club who he believes are really excelling.

He said, via the Eastern Daily Press: “I still think they have one of the best players in the division in Hoolahan. I think he is different and I think he can make things happen.

“People like Russell Martin have been over the course before. John Ruddy is there, Jonny Howson – they have got a really good side and it is a great club and once the fans are on their side it takes a good team to go to Norwich and beat them.

“So, you still expect Norwich to be up there and Alex Neil has done a great job there since he has been there. I think the secret for Norwich is going back up straight away.”

Despite not finding as much success since leaving the club, Lambert will always be remembered for the great things he did during his tenure.

Now, for Alex Neil and company, the attention switches to Rotherham United this weekend in a game that many fans will be seeing as must win.
