Former Ipswich Town manager Paul Hurst lacked consistency in his line-ups.

Ipswich Town manager Paul Lambert has taken a fresh swipe at his predecessor Paul Hurst by claiming you can’t get any consistency by dropping players off the bat, East Anglian Daily Times report.
“I think goalkeeper is a really hard position because you have two lads competing for it.
“Deano and Bart have both been in the team. You can’t keep beating somebody with a stick and take them in and out because you don’t get any consistency with it,” Lambert explained when asked if he will drop Bartosz Bialkowski.
While Lambert has strongly suggested he will keep faith with the Ipswich goalkeeper following his error in the 3-2 defeat to Bristol City, the same can’t be said of former manager Paul Hurst.
Hurst arrived at Ipswich in the summer following a spell at Shrewsbury Town, and he quickly went about trying to move away from the direct style of play under former manager Mick McCarthy.
While his intentions were good, Hurst struggled to find his best starting XI and he made the controversial call to drop Bialkowski for the derby clash with Norwich City after starting him for the first six games and then continued to chop and change his line-up on a weekly basis.
To make matters worse, Bialkowski recently told reporters how Hurst never explained his decision and he only found out he was left out when the team-sheet was read out hours before the encounter.

Lambert seems to be more open in his approach, and the former Aston Villa boss seemingly feels the Tractor Boys stand a far better chance of Championship survival this season with a close-knit, consistent line-up.
Lambert took over an Ipswich side who managed just one win in 15 league games under Hurst, though under his guidance so far results haven’t been much better with just two points taken from his four games in charge.
