Aston Villa are currently looking for a new manager following the dismissal of Roberto Di Matteo.

Paul Lambert has told Sky Sports News, which was broadcast on 10th October, that he would never go back to Aston Villa.
Villa are currently looking for a new manager, following the dismissal of Roberto Di Matteo.

Lambert has not been linked to the post at Villa Park, but the Scottish boss insists that he would not take it even if it was offered to him.
Instead, Lambert believes that Villa should give the job to Steve Bruce.
“No, I would never go back,” Lambert said, when asked whether he would ever go back to Villa. “It’s for somebody else to take the reins.

“Steve Bruce is a brilliant candidate for it. He’s charismatic as well. I think if you are asking me who I think, Steve should fill the gap.”
Bruce is currently the odds-on favourite to land the Villa job, and it seems likely that he will be put in charge.
If Bruce does take the reins at Villa Park, he will have a tough task on his hands as things have not gone swimmingly for the Midlands side this term.
Villa have won just once so far in the Championship, and they currently sit in 19th place in the table.
Steve Clarke is currently in caretaker charge of Villa, and could take control of the team for their match against Wolverhampton Wanderers at the weekend.
