Ivan Cavaleiro set up Wolverhampton Wanderers’ late winner in their last match against Brentford.
Wolverhampton Wanderers boss Paul Lambert has told the Express and Star that Ivan Cavaleiro could become a ‘massive player’ at Molineux.
Cavaleiro has shown flashes of brilliance during his first season at Wolves, but injury has halted his progress.
The winger came off the substitutes’ bench in Wolves most recent match against Brentford, and he had a big part to play at Lambert’s side’s turned the match around late on.
Wolves fell 1-0 down against Brentford, but Cavaleiro’s introduction helped the Midlands club get a foothold in the match.
Wolves first struck an equaliser in the final five minutes, before Cavaleiro set up Helder Costa to score the winner.
And Lambert believes that Cavaleiro could become a huge player for Wolves, but only if he starts finding some consistency
He said: “He’s a threat, Cav. If he can find consistency in his game he’s a massive player. You saw when he came on…I changed his position and I thought he was absolutely fantastic.”
Cavaleiro is still searching for full fitness, after recently coming back from injury, but he could now start in Wolves’ next match, which comes against Fulham on Saturday.
Wolves are currently in 18th place in the Championship table – just four points above the relegation zone.
