Should Wolverhampton Wanderers be making a move to sign the Irishman?
Norwich City’s Wes Hoolahan and Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Ivan Cavaleiro in action
This summer will no doubt see Paul Lambert trying to put his own spin on the Wolverhampton Wanderers first-team. The Scot has guided Wolves to safety in the Championship after taking over from Walter Zenga in November 2016.
One player that he should certainly consider making a move for is veteran playmaker Wes Hoolahan.
Lambert, of course, knows him well. He worked with the Republic of Ireland international during his time as Norwich City boss. He then tried to sign him, unsuccessfully, during his time as Aston Villa manager.
Hoolahan even handed in two transfer requests during the winter of 2014.
Lambert did not get his man then, but now might be the perfect time to strike.

The Irishman is now 34-years-old, and approaching the advent of his career. His contract at Carrow Road expires in the summer of 2018 and a good enough offer from Wolves would certainly tempt the Canaries into cashing in on the player.
Hoolahan is not looking in any shape to retire soon, but at his age this may be the last chance that Lambert gets to work with him again.
