Wolverhampton Wanderers have fallen short of expectations so far this season.
Paul Lambert has hinted in the Express and Star that Wolverhampton Wanderers could be set for a busy summer.
Wolves were extremely active in the transfer window last year, but the new additions have not had the impact desired.
Although the likes of Ivan Cavelerio and Helder Costa have unquestionably been excellent additions, the team have not functioned particularly effectively this term.
Wolves currently occupy a mid-table spot in the Championship table, and they have never managed to threaten the play offs.
And Lambert admits that this summer will be huge for the Midlands side, as he looks to reshape the squad.
The Scottish boss said: “It’s an absolutely huge summer, on and off the pitch. It’ll be one of the biggest for a long time.
“The new owners will have been here for a year and be better and wiser for it.
“Kevin (Thelwell, sporting director), Laurie (Dalrymple, managing director), myself and the staff, hopefully we’re all going the same way and getting lads in to help the current group to give them that push.
“We can’t just be thinking ‘Championship, Championship’. Think higher and go for it, rather than just saying this is our level.
“We want to be at the highest level.”
Wolves are likely to offload many of their under-performers this term, as Lambert looks to strengthen.
Wolves already have a bloated squad, meaning players are likely to depart to make room for new arrivals.
Wolves were in a relegation fight until recently, when a run of five straight victories propelled them up the table.
