Doubts have arisen over Rodgers’ future at Celtic.

Former Celtic captain Paul Lambert has told BBC Sport that he believes Brendan Rodgers will remain charge of the Scottish champions, despite their exit from the Champions League.
Celtic suffered a 2-1 loss to Greek side AEK Athens on Tuesday night, meaning they crashed out of the third qualifying stage of the Champions League following a 1-1 draw in the first leg.
It has been somewhat a horrendous week at Parkhead, with Rodgers venting his frustration at the board over a lack of signings this summer before they lost to Hearts on Saturday.
The situation surrounding Dedryck Boyata has taken another twist, with Rodgers confirming he was fit to face AEK despite the Belgian’s post on Instagram. Add to that the Champions League exit, and Rodgers would be forgiven for getting fed up.
Lambert, though, believes the former Liverpool manager will remain at Celtic because he claims the Northern Irishman is not the type of boss to pack up tools and leave.
“Looking at Celtic at the minute, I’m not sure they’ve got a big enough squad to go and compete on all fronts,” Lambert said.
“I don’t think Brendan said anything derogatory to the board. I think he’s just stating what every manager wants to do, strengthen their team. And I don’t think Brendan is the kind of guy who would walk away – he is not that type.”

Rodgers signed a contract last summer after his first treble that would keep him at Celtic until the Hoops win 10 in a row, if he can keep his Scottish competitors at bay every season until then.
With seven consecutive league wins under their belt, Celtic will be looking to add another this time around but sit a point behind Rangers – who are in action in the Europa League on Thursday night.
