Celtic’s Moussa Dembele in action
Former Celtic player Paul Lambert has been speaking to Sky Sports News HQ today (28/10/16) about his former club, in particular their in-form striker Moussa Dembele.
Celtic take on Aberdeen in the Scottish Premiership this weekend. A win for the Bhoys could take them 10 points clear at the top of the table with a game in hand by the end of the weekend.
Lambert, who spent eight years as a player for Celtic, told SSN that he was in no doubt about Celtic going on to win the title this season:

“Celtic are the strongest team in the league by a mile. I don’t think anybody will get close to them this year.
“Celtic are going to win the league, I think, quite comfortable.”

He then moved on to talk about French striker Dembele. The talented 20-year-old has scored 15 goals for Celtic already this season and has seemingly attracted the interest from teams south of the border and on the continent.
Lambert believes that the way in which Scottish football is viewed abroad may play a big part in Celtic keeping the player:
“That’s the difficulty of it. It depends on how other clubs will look at the Scottish game and think well can he do it in another division.
Celtic’s Moussa Dembele celebrates scoring a goal
“Fair play to him. He’s come up there and it’s not an easy club to play with Celtic because you have to win every single game.
“He’s performed at a very high level and scored some great goals.”
Celtic only signed Dembele from Fulham on a free transfer in the summer but he has been a revelation. The club will undoubtedly be doing everything in their power to keep hold of the player going forward.
Hopefully they can enjoy him for a bit longer than half a season before saying goodbye to the talent.
