The Celtic striker has not been a regular under Gordon Strachan.
Recently appointed Wolves manager and former Celtic midfielder Paul Lambert has been speaking about the talents of Bhoys striker Leigh Griffiths.
Lambert’s Scotland take on England this week in qualification for the World Cup in Russia and the debate is raging as to who should start up front for Gordon Strachan’s men.
Celtic’s Leigh Griffiths celebrates scoring their third goal
Celtic striker Leigh Griffiths, for all his talents and good form, has struggled to cement a regular place in the Scotland set-up under the guidance of Strachan.
But Lambert, who spent eight years at Celtic as a player, is clearly a firm believer in Griffiths’ talents.
Speaking to talkSPORT today (10/11/16) he heaped praise on the player – who might get a chance to shine against England on Friday:
“Leigh Griffiths has done great for Celtic he’s scored some great goals, even in Europe the lad’s been scoring.

“He’s got the attitude to upset people on the pitch. That’s a good thing about him, he’ll try things that other people won’t try.
“He’s an eye for a goal and if you are playing one up top you’re going to need speed.”

Griffiths has had to battle injury trouble this season but has still managed to score nine goals in 17 appearances for Celtic – added to the 40 goals he scored in 51 appearances for Celtic last season.
His place in the Celtic first-team is currently under serious threat from the presence of French striker Moussa Dembele.
He will be hoping to get a chance to shine with his country this week.
