Manchester United have reportedly held a long-standing interest in the England full-back.

Paul Ince has told the Manchester Evening News that his former club Manchester United should still try to sign Tottenham Hotspur defender Danny Rose.
The England international has been on United’s radar for some time but The Independent understands that Jose Mourinho is no longer in the market for a left-back.
The Red Devils manager has brought Luke Shaw back into the fold in recent months and has praised the 22-year-old’s upturn in form, according to The Independent.

However, ex-United captain Ince does not believe that Shaw has completely won Mourinho around and feels that Rose would be a “fantastic” signing at Old Trafford.
Ince told MEN Sport: “He came out the other day and said he thought Luke Shaw was world class. I can see what he’s getting at, but he’s gone from slating him and refusing to playing him to saying he’s one of the best in the world. I know what he’s trying to do, give him a boost, but I’m not sure it’s right to go calling him world class.
“It sounds brutal, but that left-back area will surely be one of Jose’s priorities. Matteo Darmian has been far from impressive, and I still don’t believe Mourinho thinks Shaw is the answer. Danny Rose is a name that keeps popping up, with him not getting a game at Tottenham, and he would be fantastic at United. If I was Mourinho, I’d be looking to sign him.”

However, Rose’s fitness record may deter United from making a move. The 28-year-old missed nine months of action in 2017 and has not played since Boxing Day because of a knee injury.
