Paul Ince says Chris Wood should’ve played for Leeds United at Sunderland.
Speaking to BT Sport, Paul Ince has described Chris Wood’s decision not to play for Leeds United on Saturday as “total rubbish”.
The 25-year-old has been heavily linked with a £15 million move to Burnley and made the decision himself not to feature in Saturday’s 2-0 win at Sunderland.
At Leeds, Wood has developed into arguably the finest striker in the Championship and his 27 goals last season proves as much.

And Ince has said on BT Sport that he would have played if he was the New Zealand hitman.
“Total rubbish. If I knew I was leaving the club, that had looked after me and I was the top goalscorer, I’d want to play.”
If and when his move to the Premier League goes through, it does not leave the Whites with a lot of time to find a replacement.
There is only 10 days left in the summer transfer window. Replacing Wood – who scored 30 times in all competitions last time around – is hard if Leeds had a whole summer in which to do it, but having a little over a week does not inspire much confidence.
The big marksman, who has 41 league goals for United in 81 games, joined the Yorkshire outfit from Leicester City in 2015, having also played for West Brom.
