Paul Ince has shutdown Wolves chances of breaking into the Premier League’s top-six this season as he stated that it would be a ‘surprise’ if any team did.

There has been talk amongst supporters and within the media that someone will break the top-six monopoly this season, with clubs such as Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United enduring a number of problems.

The Gunners have a pretty poor squad and are yet to make any significant signings this season. Chelsea have a transfer embargo over their heads and lost star man Eden Hazard this summer, whilst Manchester United are seemingly in the same boat as Arsenal.

Despite this, former Premier League midfielder Ince told the Monday Night Club on BBC Radio 5 Live that he means ‘no disrespect’ when he states that it would be a surprise if someone will gatecrash the top-six.

“Wolves are more capable of doing that [breaking into the top-six],” Ince told BBC Radio 5 Live. “I watched them against Manchester City, and yes I know it was only a friendly game, and they’re a very good outfit.

“I said before they know how to play. They know how the manager wants them to play and they are comfortable with it. They had a fantastic season last year, but they have to do it again. As much as it would be great for the lesser teams to break into the top-six, I really cannot see it [happening].

“Manchester United are going to bring in players, Arsenal are going to bring in players, you can talk about Frank Lampard at Chelsea with the embargo they have got, but they still have top, top players. It would be a surprise, and that’s not being disrespectful, if any of those teams break into the top-six.”

Nuno Espirito Santo guided Wolves to a top-seven finish last time out, so it is understandable why some may be drawn towards them causing havoc next term.

But equally, with Brendan Rodgers in charge of Leicester City, and West Ham and Everton looking to build on respectable finishes from last season, the top-six might just see a new name.
